Happy Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving this year.  Usually we head up to Jeremy's parents for lunch then we go to my dad's for dinner.  It is becoming a bit too much with 2 kids in tow to have two Thanksgivings in one day so this year we decided to simplify things and trade off years.  That way we aren't rushing with both families and this way Jeremy and I can also enjoy the day a bit more.  My sister trades off years with her in laws and our family too and this was her year to be with us so we decided to get on her schedule.  I hate we couldn't see both families but it really was nice not having to rush all day.  We started off our day watching the parade and relaxing at home.  Bennett took an early nap so once he was up we headed over to spend the rest of the day with my family.

Ryan LOVES Walker or baby Walker as he calls him

Pop Pop was smart and lined the kids table with paper so the kids could color

Coloring and playing with stickers

They had so much fun doing this!

Walker was only up for a small portion of the day

Ella playing in the dirt!

The boys running down the hill

Still running!

He had so much fun!

Playing Guitar Hero!

It was a great day with family!  Bennett had so much fun playing with Ryan and Ella.  I love this time of year and am ready to get started on decorating for Christmas!

4 months old

Our sweet little Walker is now 4 months old!

4 month stats:
17.10 lbs- 85%
25 1/8 in- 41%

He is still short and fat, but his weight has slowed down.  At his past 2 appointments he has weighed a good pound more then Bennett did at that same age, so I was expecting him to be more then 17 lbs.  Bennett weighed 18 lbs at 4 months, but Bennett was always proportionate in height and weight.  Walker is just chubby and round :)

Poor Walker also has his first cold.  He sounds a lot worse then he really is, and luckily he is still in good spirits.  I knew it wouldn't be too long before Bennett brought home some germs to share with his little brother.  I am just glad it is only a cold and nothing more serious.

Happy baby!

Using the exersaucer for the first time!  He loves playing in it!

Walker is obviously growing like a weed and is starting to bust out of his 3-6 month clothes so I am cleaning out his clothes and unpacking his 6-12 month clothes.  They are a bit long on him but he is filling them out just fine!

He is just such a happy easy going baby!  I love my chubby little guy!

Potty Training!

Over Thanksgiving break I decided I was going to potty train Bennett.  I figured since he had the week off from school it would be a good time to start this process.  I took some advice from friends and did the 3 day potty training boot camp.  That pretty much means that we potty trained like it was our job for 3 days straight and luckily it worked!  Bennett is now potty trained.  He tells me when he needs to go now and rarely has an accident.  So glad to be done with diapers on one child!

Proudly holding a new hot wheel that he earned!

I am very proud of Bennett for catching on so well.  Yesterday was his first day at school and I was so nervous that he was going to have an accident and not tell his teachers when he needed to go but he did great and had no problem telling them when he needed to use the potty.  Yay for no more diapers!!!

The Boys Baptism

Yesterday we had Bennett and Walker baptized at our church.  It was a very special day and we were blessed that all of our families could make it to see them be baptized.  We never had Bennett baptized as a baby because at that time we were still looking for our permanent church.  Luckily we found it close to 2 years ago and this past May we made it official and became members.  Once we saw they were doing children's baptism we decided it was time to have Bennett and Walker baptized and I am honestly so glad we could do them both at the same time.  It was so special seeing them together.

Our church does baptisms as more of a dedication.  This baptism doesn't mean we think our boys are saved, it means we will raise them up to know God and do our best as parents to teach them how to have their own relationship with God so that one day when they are old enough to make their own decision they will hopefully get baptized on their own.  They are too young to make that decision now so the service was for us as parents to make a promise that we will be their example.  It is a huge responsibility as a parent and one that Jeremy and I do not take lightly.  Once you have kids it makes you really evaluate your own relationship with God.  I want to live my life in a way that Bennett and Walker can learn from my example and I fail on a daily basis.  I am so glad we have a supportive family and church who will help us along this journey.

Yesterday was such a special day and I am so thankful we have been entrusted to be Bennett and Walker's parents.  They really are the biggest blessing we could have ever asked for and I just hope we do everything we can do to raise them to know the Lord and have a close personal relationship with Him.

Happy Halloween!!

We had a great Halloween this year.  Bennett really got into it and was very excited to go trick or treating!  He recently got into Spiderman so that is what he wanted to dress up as.  He refused to wear the mask though but his costume still looked cute.  Walker went as a little tiger and looked adorable!

We started out our night like we always do over at Pop Pop's house.  After the kids got some candy over there we headed back over to our neighborhood so Bennett, Ella, and Ryan could trick or treat.  Ryan made up all laugh he was running from house to house so fast we could barely keep up with him.  Bennett and Ella were a good 3 or 4 houses behind him most of the night.

Walker was ready to go down for the night about an hour after we started trick or treating, so Jeremy and I headed back home to put him to bed and pass out candy.  Ryan wanted to come in and hang out with us, so Lou Lou and D took Ella and Bennett out trick or treating a bit longer.  It was a really fun night and the kids had a great time and racked up on a lot of candy!

The cutest tiger!

It was a really fun night!  Bennett has asked a couple of times since Halloween if we can go trick or treating again. I told him we couldn't go back out which he didn't really like.  If only you could ring people's door bells at any time and get candy!

Birthdays and Fall Fun!

Jeremy and I just celebrated our birthdays before Halloween.  They were very low key and uneventful. For my birthday all I wanted was to have a quiet dinner after the boys were in bed so we ordered take out Chinese and relaxed.  I thoroughly enjoyed eating dinner in peace!  For Jeremy's birthday I cooked him french toast at his request for dinner and made him a hot fudge pie for dessert.  We had a nice week celebrating, but hopefully next year we can get out just the two of us and do something a little more fun.

We also had a fun Halloween party we went to at my friend Sari's house.  They have hosted this party for the past three years and it is so much fun.  The kids dress up in their costumes and play while the adults get to hang out and watch the GA/Fla game.  I ended up not putting Bennett in his costume this year because he was having a lot of fun playing and he wouldn't have stopped long enough for me to change him.

Cutest little Bulldawg fan!

All of the kids at the party minus Walker...He was knocked out in his car seat ready to head home

Then we had to carve our pumpkin for Halloween which Bennett was really excited about.  The whole morning he kept asking when we were going to carve the pumpkin and telling me he was so excited.  I asked him if he wanted a nice pumpkin or a scary one.  He kept changing his mind so we just went with the classic pumpkin face for our pumpkin. Once we got ready to carve the pumpkin Bennett was not as interested in participating but Jeremy and I had fun.

I am so glad fall is here!  I love this time of year!!
